News and Events

Welcome to the Rural Enterprise Academy.

Lorraine Makin - Principal

As the Principal of the new Rural Enterprise Academy, I would like to welcome you to our website. Here you will be able to find out everything that is happening at the Academy, including forthcoming events and the latest news, together with helpful information for learners and their parents/carers.

We have recently moved into the first phase of our new Academy building, staff and students are delighted with the quality of our environment. Next spring the second phase will be completed; this will include an additional suite of teaching rooms as well as a sports hall. Sited in the grounds of South Staffordshire College there can be few schools in the county that enjoy a more beautiful environment. Wherever possible students take advantage of the excellent facilities from the zoo to the land.

If you would like to know more please come to one of our open events where you can meet staff and current pupils.

Transport – September 2018

It is imperative all students wishing to use the College transport next academic year (Sept 2018-July 2019), return their applications forms to the transport department, along with payment details, by Friday 24th August.

As it is only Academy students who will be using the transport on Wednesday 5th – Friday 7th September, the bus routes and times will be different, on those three days only, to those previously published. Normal routes and times will resume on Monday 10th September.

The transport department will devise routes for those three days, based on the applications they have received at that point. So, unfortunately, if a student has not returned their application form, they will not be picked up.

The bus timetables for Wednesday 5th – Friday 7th September will be available to view, on the Academy website, from Tuesday 4th September.

GCSE results day – Thursday 23rd August

GCSE results are available on Thursday 23rd August 2018. Results can be collected from the Academy between 9.00 am and 10.30 am. If a student is not able to collect their results in person, and is sending a representative to collect the results on their behalf, the Academy must be informed prior to 23rd August. The Academy will require written (email or letter) confirmation of the name of their representative. In line with data protection laws, the representative will need to bring proof of identification in order to collect a candidate’s results.

More information regarding GCSE results is included in the following letter – GCSE results day
