We give our students the opportunity to mix academic GCSEs with first-hand experience in industries that link directly with their goals!
The range and depth of the curriculum also equips students with the transferable and marketable skills needed by employers in a wide range of sectors.
Students will be able to choose from a programme of GCSEs designed to develop skills and knowledge in rural enterprise, environmental sustainability and land-based subjects. Students also have the option to study a vocational qualification to replace selected GCSEs however all students will study English, Maths, Science, Geography and Business.
Year 9 learners will begin to prepare for GCSEs or equivalent vocational subjects as soon as they start at TREA. The curriculum will consist of the following subjects:-
BTEC Vocational Qualification in Agriculture, Animal Care or Equine Studies
English Language, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French or Environmental Science, Geography, Business Studies, IT/Computer Science, CPSHE, RE, PE and Enterprise.
English Language and Literature, Maths, ICT/French, Business, Science, Geography
• BTEC Extended Certificate in Animal Care, Agriculture or Equine Studies.
In addition, all students will have sessions timetabled for:
- Citizenship, Personal, Social, Health Education
- Personal Fitness
- Progression Coaching
Personal fitness sessions includes traditional and non-traditional activities.
