The Rural Enterprise Academy

News and Events

Welcome to the Rural Enterprise Academy.

Lorraine Makin - Principal

As the Principal of the new Rural Enterprise Academy, I would like to welcome you to our website. Here you will be able to find out everything that is happening at the Academy, including forthcoming events and the latest news, together with helpful information for learners and their parents/carers.

We have recently moved into the first phase of our new Academy building, staff and students are delighted with the quality of our environment. Next spring the second phase will be completed; this will include an additional suite of teaching rooms as well as a sports hall. Sited in the grounds of South Staffordshire College there can be few schools in the county that enjoy a more beautiful environment. Wherever possible students take advantage of the excellent facilities from the zoo to the land.

If you would like to know more please come to one of our open events where you can meet staff and current pupils.

Library in progress!

Well, we now have a TREA library!

A massive thank you to anyone who has been able to donate books – they have turned our empty shelves into book shelves!

Staff have been working hard to clear out unwanted furniture, brighten up blank walls with inspiring displays and catalogue the hundreds of books we have received.

You will shortly receive additional information regarding the Accelerated Reader programme being introduced to all Academy students.

In the meantime, if you still have any unwanted books at home, fiction or non-fiction, no matter the condition or genre (obviously the reading material must be appropriate for our students), we would be delighted to take them off your hands. Just send them into the Academy as soon as possible.

If you have a large number of books you are able to donate but are unable to deliver them, please contact the Academy to arrange for them to be collected.

TREAT

We had a busy term last term. To find out about some of the interesting things our students were involved in take a look at our newsletter (TREAT).

Non-Uniform Day

Our impromptu non-uniform day on Tuesday 14th February raised £120 – thank you as always to those who contributed.

The donations will be split between Teenage Cancer Trust and the school library fund.
